Basketball Game Preview: Greene County Tech Golden Eagles vs. Searcy Lions

Greene County Tech is 9-1 against Searcy since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Greene County Tech Golden Eagles will square off against the Searcy Lions at 6:00 p.m. Greene County Tech is coming into the match hot, having won their last 15 games.

Last Friday, Greene County Tech blew past Paragould, posting a 62-30 victory. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greene County Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Myiah Butler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Butler continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Ryan, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points.

Greene County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Searcy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 52-46 to Nettleton. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greene County Tech pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for Searcy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Everything came up roses for Greene County Tech against Searcy when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 65-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greene County Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
