Football Recap: Regents Knights vs. All S Saints
Regents and All S squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Regents had to settle for second. They took a hard 42-26 fall against the All S Saints. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Defeat or not, Regents got some senior leadership from Bobby Long and Roman Patson. Long threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, while Patson picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Patson really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards. A healthy portion of Long's aerial production (122 yards to be exact) also went to Kade Millington, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Gavin Parkhurst was his usual excellent self, rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 232 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes for All S. The dominant performance gave Parkhurst a new career-high in rushing yards. Qumonte Williams was Parkhurst's top target, picking up 86 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Regents' loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for All S, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Regents does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for All S, they will challenge Second Baptist at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. All S knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Second Baptist likes a good challenge.
