Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. West Davidson Dragons

Lexington is 0-10 against West Davidson since March of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will square off against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Lexington has given up an average of 16.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lexington is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 19-1 to West Davidson. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.

For West Davidson's part, Tyson Walters spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Josh Ortiz was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Levi Berrier, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

West Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

West Davidson now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
