Mallard Creek is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bullis. The Mallard Creek Mavericks received a blow as they fell 77-58 to the Bullis Bulldogs. The Mavericks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elle Stone, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmeen Stone, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bullis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meghan Yarnevich, who went 12 for 16 on her way to 26 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Yarnevich also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Ivanna Manyacka was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Bullis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Mallard Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 victory against North Mecklenburg on the 3rd. As for Bullis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-71 win against Maret on the 8th.
