Basketball Recap: Cross County Comes Up Short

Cross County lost against East Poinsett County back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cross County Thunderbirds were dealt a 58-25 loss at the hands of the East Poinsett County Warriors. The Thunderbirds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Jalyn Constant was nothing short of spectacular for East Poinsett County: she went 8 of 9 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Constant a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kyla Harston, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Cross County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for East Poinsett County, they pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Cross County will welcome Corning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Poinsett County, they will head out on the road to challenge Rector at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
