Recap: Oley Valley Lynx vs. Pequea Valley Braves
Oley Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over the Pequea Valley Braves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Oley Valley also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.
Cheyenne Walsh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Walsh was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brianna Garcia was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Dana Messner, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Oley Valley will head out on the road to take on Lancaster Mennonite at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pequea Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on April 3rd.
