Volleyball Recap: Eldon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eldon waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eugene Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Eldon took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-5.

Eldon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaidyn Shelden led the charge by getting eight digs and three aces. What's more, Shelden posted three assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Sarah Tompkins was another key player, getting four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Eldon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Eldon's record now sits at 3-1. As for Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Eldon will face off against California at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Eugene, they will square off against Fulton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
