Payton College Prep had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt ITW David Speer Academy on Tuesday. The Grizzlies blew past the Pride 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anthony Arena made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Linares, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Derek Patton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Payton College Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Payton College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for ITW David Speer Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
