Baseball Game Preview: West Geauga Wolverines vs. Madison Blue Streaks

The West Geauga Wolverines will face off against the Madison Blue Streaks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Geauga's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Lakeside with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won five in a row.

Pymatuning Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Madison proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 12-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Streaks.

AlexAnder DAvis made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Daniel Schultz was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Madison lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Madison's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for West Geauga, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
