Football Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln lost against Ames back in September of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lynx took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little Cyclones. The Lynx were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Braylin De Jager, who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns. De Jager has become a key player for the Lynx: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Ames, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will challenge Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lynx will be up against the Roughriders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ames, they will face off against Ankeny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
