Softball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Has No Trouble Against Faith Christian

While Rocky Mount Academy put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Faith Christian. The Eagles blew past the Patriots 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Berkeley Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Katie Bulluck was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Kaylen Evans was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Rocky Mount Academy's record is now 10-7. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Rocky Mount Academy will welcome Wilson Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Chargers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
