Baseball Recap: El Dorado Victorious

El Dorado gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past the Del Valle Conquistadores 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Aztecs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gael Soto looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. El Dorado is 5-1 when Soto allows one or fewer hits, but 7-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, El Dorado saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Bernal, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Bernal has posted since back in March.

El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-16 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Del Valle, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9.

El Dorado will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Conquistadores: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
