Softball Recap: Hale County Comes Up Short

Hale County lost against Demopolis back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hale County Wildcats lost 19-9 to the Demopolis Tigers. Even though they lost, the Wildcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Shyann Kearley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Hale County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Hale County's record is now 1-3. As for Demopolis, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-8.

Coming up, Hale County will host University Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Demopolis, they will head out to challenge American Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
