Softball Game Preview: UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs vs. LeFlore Rattlers

The UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs will square off against the LeFlore Rattlers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. UMS-Wright Prep will be strutting in after a victory while LeFlore will be coming in after a defeat.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when UMS-Wright Prep and McGill-Toolen meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Everything went UMS-Wright Prep's way against McGill-Toolen as UMS-Wright Prep made off with a 13-2 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won five games by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, LeFlore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against St. Michael Catholic, falling 20-1.

UMS-Wright Prep pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for LeFlore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went UMS-Wright Prep's way against LeFlore in their previous matchup back in February, as UMS-Wright Prep made off with a 15-0 win. Will UMS-Wright Prep repeat their success, or does LeFlore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
