Cameron Odom leads Cottondale to victory over Sneads

The Cottondale Hornets had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sneads 39-37. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Cottondale has scored all season.

It was another big night for Cameron Odom, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Stringer, who scored four points along with two steals and two blocks.

Cottondale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Sneads, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottondale will challenge Altha at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Altha will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 665th, while Cottondale is ranked 320th). As for Sneads, they will head out on the road to take on Malone at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malone is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
