Baseball Recap: Pillager Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous four game, Pillager brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on the Crosby-Ironton Rangers with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. The Huskies not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024 (when they won 9-1).

Kaden Imdieke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Grant Grimsley was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliott Imdieke, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Pillager kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crosby-Ironton only managed six hits.

The victory snapped Pillager's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record. As for Crosby-Ironton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pillager will face off against Staples-Motley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crosby-Ironton, they will challenge Ogilvie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
