            Phoenix Christian dropped to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell  34-21 to the Veritas Prep Falcons. The defensive woes were  uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this  matchup were averaging 13.78  points allowed.
Phoenix Christian's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Z'Yeon Rondan, who rushed for 103 yards and two  touchdowns, and  Cashis Grimwade, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one  TD. Grimwade was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 58 yards.
 Even if they lost, Phoenix Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department,  Rondan was the leader with two.
As for Veritas Prep, the  victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.6 points on average this season.
 Leading Veritas Prep to victory were  Rocco Guido and  Miles Perry.  Guido threw for 279 yards and four  touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, while  Perry picked up 99 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. Those  279  passing yards gave  Guido a new career-high.
As of now, neither Phoenix Christian nor Veritas Prep have any future games scheduled.
