Football Recap: Elko Indians vs. Fernley Vaqueros
Elko won the last time they faced Fernley and things went their way on Friday too. The Indians came out on top against the Vaqueros by a score of 26-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Ethan Kraintz was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 53 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. What's more, he racked up 139.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elko's defense and their three sacks. Riott Duke refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Alan Campos was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles.
Bryce Stephens and Keeshawn Love certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Stephens threw for 136 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Love rushed for 122 yards. Love's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 122 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Elko has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Fernley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
