Basketball Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

Carrollton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Manchester Jaguar. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Jaguar are ranked 58th).

New Manchester got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Hines out in front who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points. Hines' afternoon made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Guilford, who posted seven points along with eight assists and five boards.

Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for New Manchester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Carrollton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-50 loss against East Coweta on the 7th. New Manchester has also already played their next game, an 82-63 victory against Villa Rica on the 7th.
