Basketball Recap: Atkinson County Comes Up Short

Atkinson County lost against Charlton County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Atkinson County Rebels had to suffer through a 67-36 loss at the hands of the Charlton County Indians. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Indians are ranked 162nd).

Christiona.?? Farmer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Charlton County, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Farmer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Battle, who posted 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Atkinson County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Charlton County, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Atkinson County has already played their next match (against Lanier County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Charlton County will host Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Charlton County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
