Basketball Recap: Colt Cavazos Key Part of a Team Effort in Bearkats Win

On Tuesday, the Raymondville Bearkats earned a 53-43 victory over the IDEA Sports Park Stingrays. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearkats.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Raymondville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colt Cavazos, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Cavazos has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Slevin Gutierrez was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Raymondville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Raymondville's record is now 12-7. As for IDEA Sports Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Raymondville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-46 win against IDEA Robindale on the 10th. As for IDEA Sports Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-23 victory against IDEA Riverview on the 10th.
