Basketball Recap: Estancia Takes a Loss

Estancia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-37 loss at the hands of the Savanna Rebels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-51 on January 7th.

Savanna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mathys Rudel led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Rudel a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Paul Henderson, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points along with six steals and five assists.

Estancia's loss dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Savanna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Estancia will take on Rancho Alamitos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Alamitos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Savanna, they will square off against Santiago at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Savanna also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.4 points per game.
