Softball Recap: Kimberly Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Kimberly dropped their record down to 26-4-1 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 12-game streak of wins at home. They lost 11-5 to the Cole Valley Christian Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 4th.

Brooklyn VerWey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

As for Cole Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 22 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Cole Valley Christian's side, Karlie Barnum made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Barnum was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lola Crosby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brinkley Lauderdale, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Kimberly nor Cole Valley Christian have any future games scheduled.
