Houston came up big in Arcata's 13-4 win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Riley Houston stepped things up a notch to give Arcata the 'W'. Trinity had no answer to Houston as she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
Houston's strong effort led Arcata over Trinity and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston has dominated as far as innings are concerned (she's averaged 7 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering Trinity has only allowed 3.56 per game this season.
