Softball Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Battle Ground Academy Wildcats face off against Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Battle Ground Academy fell victim to Brentwood and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Bruins. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Middle Tennessee Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Bell County on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Riley Osborne, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Allena Reynolds also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Middle Tennessee Christian's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Battle Ground Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Battle Ground Academy's way against Middle Tennessee Christian in their previous meeting back in March, as Battle Ground Academy made off with a 10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Battle Ground Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
