            Softball Preview: Hale Center Owls vs. Littlefield Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Hale Center Owls will venture away from home to  take on the Littlefield Wildcats  at 2:00  p.m.  on Monday. Littlefield took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hale Center, who comes in off a win.
Hale Center picked up another tournament win  on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  an  8-1 margin over Post. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Owls.
 Miella Anguiano made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Anguiano was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-1.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Alyssa Borunda, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Sofia Gomez, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1.
 Hale Center was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Post only posted a  batting average of  .250.
Meanwhile, Littlefield didn't have quite enough to beat Lubbock Christian on Friday and fell  8-6.
  Alyssa Torres was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. What's more,  she also posted two  doubles, the most she's  had since back in February of 2024.
 Littlefield's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Hale Center, their record now sits at 2-0.
 Hale Center suffered a grim  21-6 defeat to Littlefield  in their previous meeting  back in February of 2016. Can Hale Center avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
