Football Game Preview: Plainview Bulldogs vs. Palo Duro Dons

The Plainview Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Palo Duro Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Plainview is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Cooper on Friday. The Bulldogs took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Palo Duro entered their tilt with Lubbock-Cooper on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They skirted past the Pirates 36-33. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Pirates are ranked 255th).

Plainview now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Palo Duro, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Plainview came up short against Palo Duro in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 38-31. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
