Volleyball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines vs. Fairbury Jeffs
Wilber-Clatonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Fairbury Jeffs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Jeffs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss last Tuesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-7.
Haleah Schuerman paced Wilber-Clatonia's offense, picking up six kills. Schuerman got some help from Brynn Zajicek and her seven assists. Schuerman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Nevaeh Ortiz was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and one assist.
Wilber-Clatonia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-24. As for Fairbury, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-9.
Wilber-Clatonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairbury, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Adams Central on the 28th.
