It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Estancia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Los Amigos Lobos, sneaking past 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lobos: they've now won five in a row.

Athan Perez was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Humphries, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jacob Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Estancia back to even at 2-2. As for Los Amigos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Estancia will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Los Amigos, they will be playing at home against Garden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garden Grove will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Los Amigos surely won't give up without a fight.
