Softball Recap: Castle Knights vs. Tri-West Hendricks Bruins

It was a good run, but Castle unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 6-2 to the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Castle has scored all season.

Giovanna (gigi) Lynch spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Castle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aleyna Quinn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On Tri-West Hendricks' side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings played and she was also dialed-in: Audrey Lowry gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addy Brower, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Castle's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
