Basketball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Comes Up Short

Bishop Rosecrans played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Zanesville Blue Devils, falling 64-19. The Bishops were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

Abby Sagan and Emily Jenkins certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Sagan posted seven points, while Jenkins had five points. That was a full 36.8% of Bishop Rosecrans' points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Zanesville can attribute much of their success to Achaia Walker, who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points and six steals. Lakeyah Butcher was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Bishop Rosecrans is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. As for Zanesville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-10.

Bishop Rosecrans didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-19 victory against Miller on the 16th. As for Zanesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-45 loss against Mt. Vernon on the 15th.
