Baseball Recap: Leakey Comes Up Short

Leakey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-5 to Junction, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Junction this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 on Tuesday.

Aden Rhiver made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paul Pintor, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Leakey's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Junction, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-0.

Leakey didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-2 defeat against Knippa on the 28th. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Junction knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Johnson City likes a good challenge.
