Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Woodcreek

Woodcreek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rio Americano Raiders with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Maryn Macneil spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Leena Well was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Nicole Fonti was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Woodcreek's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rio Americano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
