Softball Recap: Mobile Christian Wins Going Away Against Foley

After only one run in their last match, Mobile Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Foley on Friday. The Mobile Christian Leopards blew past the Foley Lions 17-1. The win continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Madison Horton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Horton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those triples were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Dunnam, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which washer first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Padgett, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3.

Mobile Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mobile Christian's record is now 4-1. As for Foley, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Mobile Christian will head out to face off against Faith Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foley, they will welcome Escambia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
