Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Wayne). They claimed a resounding 59-32 victory over the Smithfield-Selma Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Saints have posted since February 9, 2024.

Southern Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Hines-Bass out in front who went 7 for 17 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hines-Bass has scored at least a third of Southern Wayne's points. Another player making a difference was Kymora Stokes, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Southern Wayne's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
