Softball Recap: Alta Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Alta took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Olympus, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Danica Doyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addyson Brownell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Taylor Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Alta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive matchups.

Alta's record is now 9-12. As for Olympus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Alta will take on Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Redhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.18 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Olympus, they will challenge Riverton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Silverwolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
