Basketball Recap: Newport Piles Up the Points Against Chewelah

Newport's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by the Chewelah Cougars to the tune of 38-11. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Grizzlies as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Newport's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Chewelah, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Newport and Shadle Park will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. As for Chewelah, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Davenport at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
