Basketball Game Preview: Casey County Rebels vs. Mercer County Titans

Casey County hasn't had much luck against Mercer County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Casey County Rebels will be playing at home against the Mercer County Titans at 7:30 p.m. Mercer County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Casey County, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Casey County sidestepped Clinton County for a 46-44 win.

Meanwhile, Mercer County had to suffer through a 69-14 loss at the hands of Anderson County. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Bearcats are ranked 35th).

Casey County's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Mercer County, they dropped their record down to 8-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Casey County was dealt a bruising 71-36 defeat at the hands of Mercer County when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Casey County, Ak Drakeford (who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 12 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
