Basketball Recap: Kristyn Cheek's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maxwell over Brady

Maxwell lost against Brady back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maxwell Wildcats took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brady Eagles. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kristyn Cheek, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Cheek is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Miller, who posted four points in addition to eight assists and six steals.

Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Brady, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Maxwell Wildcats challenge the Paxton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brady will take on Maywood/Hayes Center in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maywood/Hayes Center is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
