Baseball Recap: Yuba City Extends Winning Streak to 13

Yuba City had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Lodi Flames on Thursday as they made off with an 11-3 victory. Considering the Honkers have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Lane was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Decker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Yuba City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lodi only posted an OBP of .321.

The win was the 13th in a row for Yuba City, bringing their record up to 30-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lodi, their loss dropped their record down to 25-10.

Looking ahead, Yuba City will square off against Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Honkers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Lodi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
