It was a good run, but Grain Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Grain Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-19, 26-24.

Chesnie King paced Grain Valley's offense, picking up 11 kills. King got some help from Bromlee Cook and her 17 assists. Cook was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Grain Valley has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Belton on the 13th. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against St. Pius X on the 13th.
