Baseball Game Preview: Aldine Mustangs vs. Eisenhower Eagles

For the second straight game, Aldine will face off against Eisenhower. The Mustangs will square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aldine will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Aldine got the win against Eisenhower by a conclusive 7-1. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Orlando Reyes and Jansyel Barbosa did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Barbosa scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Barbosa has posted since back in April of 2024. Julian Velez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Aldine's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Eisenhower, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Eisenhower's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aldine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347.
