Neosho waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Miami Wardogs with a sharp 13-3 win. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Brody Crane made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jaden Nichols was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jaiden Fisher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Neosho always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami only posted an OBP of .296.

Neosho's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Miami, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Neosho will be playing at home against Galena at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Miami, they will head out to square off against Pryor at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wardogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
