Basketball Recap: Nimi Metiko Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ahoskie Christian

Heritage Christian Academy lost to Ahoskie Christian back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Heritage Christian Academy Patriots secured a 58-52 W over Ahoskie Christian.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nimi Metiko, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Metiko has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Parker Buetow, who scored 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Ahoskie Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaelen Rascoe almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Rascoe's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Martin, who went 6 for 13 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Heritage Christian Academy's record now sits at 9-7. As for Ahoskie Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Heritage Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 defeat against Pamlico Christian Academy on the 31st. Ahoskie Christian has also already played their next game, a 60-52 victory against Unity Christian Academy on the 31st.
