Volleyball Recap: Glendale Cardinals vs. Verrado Vipers
Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They came up short against the Verrado Vipers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vipers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
Glendale was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-11.
Simon Sinohui paced Glendale's offense, picking up five kills. Sinohui got some help from Fabian Navarrette and his eight assists. Navarrette also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Christopher Jenkins-White, racking up two apiece.
Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Verrado, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 25-9.
As of now, neither Glendale nor the Vipers have any future games scheduled.
