Softball Game Preview: Waynesboro Little Giants vs. Riverheads Gladiators

Waynesboro hasn't had much luck against Riverheads recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Little Giants will square off against the Gladiators at 5:00 p.m. Waynesboro has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Waynesboro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Charlottesville with a sharp 29-15 win on Friday. The Little Giants not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024 (when they won 20-1).

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Riverheads sidestepped Wilson Memorial for a 4-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gladiators.

Riverheads picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Waynesboro, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

Waynesboro came up short against Riverheads in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Little Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
