Soccer Game Preview: Paw Paw vs. Buchanan

The Paw Paw Red Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Buchanan Bucks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Paw Paw will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Paw Paw proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Vicksburg. The game was the first time Paw Paw have beaten Vicksburg on their pitch since October 2, 2017.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Buchanan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 5-0 to Berrien Springs. The shutout was out of character for Buchanan seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Paw Paw's win bumped their record up to 12-5-1. As for Buchanan, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 11-5-2.

Everything went Paw Paw's way against Buchanan in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, as Paw Paw made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Wolves since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
