Basketball Recap: Louisiana's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Louisiana suffered their biggest defeat since February 8, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 50-27 to the Pittsfield Saukees. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 184th in Missouri, while the Saukees are ranked 36th in Illinois).

Pittsfield found their leader in freshman Reese Ramsey, who posted 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Ramsey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln McCartney, who put up eight points along with ten boards and three steals.

Louisiana's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Pittsfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

Louisiana has already played their next game (against Silex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pittsfield has already played their next matchup, a 55-17 win against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia on the 27th.
