Baseball Game Preview: Anthem Prep Eagles vs. Antelope Rams

Anthem Prep is a perfect 6-0 against Antelope since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Rams at 3:00 p.m. Anthem Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Anthem Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 35-1 margin over Mountainside on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Wyatt Mitchell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Anthem Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Adam Beeman was incredible, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Jovan Durickovic, who scored six runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Anthem Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .709. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Antelope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Palo Verde. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Antelope's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Anthem Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Anthem Prep beat Antelope 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
