Basketball Game Preview: Lima Senior Spartans vs. Shawnee Indians

The Lima Senior Spartans will face off against the Shawnee Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Lima Senior really took it to Marion Harding for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-26 win. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Shawnee waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Bulldogs.

Shawnee found their leader in freshman Ava Gadson, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Gadson a new career-high in field goal percentage (63%). Another player making a difference was Lauren Potts, who posted seven points.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Lima Senior, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Lima Senior was able to grind out a solid victory over Shawnee when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-47. Will Lima Senior repeat their success, or does Shawnee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
